The National Energy Code for Buildings (NECB) is now common-speak in Saskatchewan construction, with many industry trades, consultants and owners having a handle on the requirements. Performance Path (energy modeling) still tends to be the most flexible and design-and-construction-friendly in commercial buildings, where the consultant cost is very much worth the saved construction costs and designer/owner’s permitting headache. TES continues to deliver compliance assessments with 100% success rate, recognizing issues early and quickly rectifying any NECB issues in the permit review process.
TES also continues to build its expertise, while still offering lowest cost (lowest overhead!) service. EQuest is a free software that TES continues to use to keep client cost low and offer quick compliances on simpler projects – if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. However, for more complex projects and to continue to improve proficiency, TES has developed valuable experience in the industry-leading IES-Virtual Environment software. This software can incorporate complex daylighting modeling, natural ventilation, various energy recoveries, infinite mechanical system customizations, and renewables. So much capability, but also not needed on many projects.
Balancing cost and benefit of each software for benefit of each client, TES delivers on all counts.
